Brief History and Aim

The Wah Kiu Yat Po Readers' Loan Fund for Post Secondary Schools Students was established in 1962. The purpose of the Fund is, by means of interest-free loans, to assist students, who are studying in tertiary institutes in Hong Kong and are in financial needs, to finish their tertiary education.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:-

  1. Have the right of abode in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, or have legitimately resided in Hong Kong for 3 years continuously or have a family which have lived in Hong Kong for 3 years immediately prior to the commencement of their courses (not applicable to Hong Kong Students who are holding student visas);
  2. Have the total monthly family income not more than HK$25,000; and
  3. Be studying full-time recognized degrees, associate-degrees or higher diploma courses in one of the following institutes: The University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong Baptist University, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Open University of Hong Kong (self-financed degree programme), the City University of Hong Kong, the Lingnan University, the Hong Kong Institute of Education, the Hong Kong Shue Yan University, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education

Method of Application

Application forms can be downloaded from the websites of the student affairs units of the tertiary institutes. The duly completed form should be stamped with a school chop by the respective institute, and, together with the relevant documents, returned to the Wah Kiu Yat Po Readers' Loan Fund at 4/F, Morning Post Centre, 22 Dai Fat Street, Tai Po Industrial Estate.
