Government Matriculation Maintenance Grants (GMMG)
Brief History and Aim
The Government Matriculation Maintenance Grants was instituted in 1954. Its aim is to give financial assistance to students who are in need as assessed under a means test and are pursuing a full-time Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination Course in any secondary schools approved by
the Education Bureau. The GMMG Selection Committee was set up to give advice on general administration in connection with the selection of applicants and the award of the grant.

Eligibility Criteria
Students must:
- be Hong Kong residents;
- be attending full-time Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination Course in Secondary 6 or Secondary 7 in schools approved by the Education Bureau; and
- be in financial need.
Method of Application
The Government Matriculation Maintenance Grants Scheme is now
open for application. Eligible students may obtain the Application Forms and Guidance Notes from their schools or download the
documents by clicking here. Completed forms must be returned to the Student Financial Assistance Agency through the school principals.
