Government Matriculation Maintenance Grants (GMMG)
Brief History and Aim
The Government Matriculation Maintenance Grants was instituted in 1954. Its aim is to give financial assistance to students who are in need as assessed under a means test and are pursuing a full-time Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination Course in any secondary schools approved by
the Education Bureau. The GMMG Selection Committee was set up to give advice on general administration in connection with the selection of applicants and the award of the grant.

Eligibility Criteria
Students must:
- be Hong Kong residents;
- be attending full-time Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination Course in Secondary
schools approved by the Education Bureau; and
- be in financial need.
Method of Application
During the application period, Eligible students may obtain the Application Forms and Guidance Notes from their schools or download
the forms from this website. Completed forms must be returned to the Student Financial Assistance Agency through the school principals.
Application Period
(Attention: The Government Matriculation
Maintenance Grants will be suspended with effect from 2012/13 school
year.)
