Sir Edward Youde Memorial Medals
Aim
The Award scheme was introduced to recognize the achievements of students who obtained the best results in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) and the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE).
Number of Awards
With effect from 2001/2002 academic year, six awards will be granted under the SEYM Medals Scheme annually as follows :-
- three for Secondary 7 students who obtained outstanding results in the HKALE; and
- three for Secondary 5 students who obtained outstanding results in the HKCEE.
Value of Awards
Each winner of the award receives a medal, a certificate and a cash prize of $5,000.
Nomination Procedures
Based on the information provided by the Hong Kong Examinations
and Assessment Authority, a number of top performers in the year will be invited for a selection interview normally held in October/November.
Announcement of Results
Awardees will be informed of the results around January/February.
Payment Arrangement
Award money will be paid after the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council has decided on the awards. This will be remitted by cheque to the successful candidates.
Presentation of Awards
A medal and a certificate will be awarded to each award recipient at an Awards Presentation Ceremony scheduled for March/April.
